Default Protecting barn floor from tire chains

I just put chains on the rear of my TC40DA and have parked it in my new barn using blanks. I've been thinking about buying some rubber floor mats and cutting them in strips. Anyony using mats or something else to protect concrete floors from tire chains? Thanks

From personal experience, the effectiveness of rubber mats is dependent on how cold it gets where you live. I used them till a relatively cold spell (10F or so) when they got all brittle and broke into small pieces when the chains drove over them. At minus 30F not much works but wooden planks.

Ripping a couple of sheets of 1/2" plywood into long strips might be the most durable and least expensive option.

Rubber horse stall mats should work but they cost ~35 or so for a 4x6 piece. If you buy them, look for mats about an inch overall. Some are solid while some are grooved. There are mats that are maybe 3/4" with grooves that are flimsy.

Old conveyor belting is pretty tough but the surface is slippery as ice.
