I too are a tractorholic. True story:
Back in November on an unusually warm fall day, wife and I were heading down the road in the pickup, we were passing a house and there was a nice Kubota TLB (going to fast to see model), and I started drooling (that could have been old age?).
Wife ask what were you looking at? Seems there was a woman in shorts washing the car somewhere near the TLB.
I can honestly say I missed that [img]/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]

You are showing your wisdom not age. Cute chicks provide pleasing momentary eye candy and occasionally offer some saddle time but a tractor...now that is a source of dependable seat time with no need to ask permission or put up with irrelevant BS the other 23hrs a day. No matter how good the babe in shorts looks right now, someone, somewhere is tired of her cr*p. Gimme the tractor every time (well almost every time). [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

I don't want to get off topic, but I betcha a comparison (on TBN of course) of the benefits and costs of spending time or dealing with maintenance issues with a woman vs a tractor would not be too kind to the fairer sex. But we won't go there. I just need to keep remembering not to attempt to change my sweetie's hydraulic fluid when I hear her whine.

A great big "WELL DONE TO ALL!" This was one of the best written posts I have ever seen here! You can tell it has been a long winter and many of us are suffering from a lack of seat time. I think you guys have identified an important varient subtype of tractorphilia in which the particular brand obsession complicates both diagnosis and management. As you have noted, the "Deere" group may have higher rates of misdiagnosis leading to injuries inflicted by spouses. Similarly, the ASPCA may become involved before mental health professionals in certain cases when patients mutter about coyotes in the garage or hooking up attachments to coyotes to work on a farm.

Other new varients are being decribed as well. One particularly common type may have unusual reactions to seeing colored objects especially while driving. I believe DodgeRam may have this subtype. What is absolutely fascinating is that while all members of this group rubberneck while driving, the stimulus is not consistent. Individual patients respond to DIFFERENT colors. It is reported that there are patients who turn only to observe orange objects while other patients respond similarly only to red, blue or green objects. In addition to the sudden turning of the head, these patients also lose track of conversations during these color induced seizures. Spousal reports are the most accurate means of identifying patients with this varient illness as the patients rarely report the problem themselves.

I must say that it feels as though we are discovering more and more about this complicated illness every day. Freud must have experienced similar excitement as he started to unravel the psyche. I wonder, by the way, what color tractor he would have owned?
