Plows for dumbies.

I used my boxblade last year and planted annual ryegrass with a hand spreader. It came up very nice and was beautiful to look at. I just added irrigation and used a subsoiler to rip up the ryegrass, and will level it out with my boxblade again, then make raised rows and will be planting berries and lavender. Ain't farming fun?

The chiesel plow photo posted earlier was probably more along the lines of a spring tooth harrow, which qualifies as a sort of chiesel plow.

If you really want to bust up the hardpan and promote roots going deeper, and more importantly enable moisture to come up, this site
http://www.marketfarm.com/cfms/chisel_plow.cfm
has a good example of a chiesel plow in use.

They say 10 hp per tooth, I think 12 - 14 is better. A nine tooth chiesel will make a 125 hp tractor sweat in hard ground.
