I remember a thread several months back discussing the proper technique for using HST. The poster thought there was something wrong with his tractor (I think it was a Boomer) since he couldn't break the tires loose when using the FEL. It was suggested that he was using the HST pedal like an accelerator pedal.

Does anyone remember this topic? My inept use of the search feature hasn't turned it up.

This the one?

With some study and practice, maybe I can make a less clumsy link, but not yet.

Charlie,

Thanks for the links. Both contained some info I was looking for but I still think I remember a thread dealing with NH. I read a comment on another board about the NH HST compacts being underpowered pieces of junk because they couldn't break the wheels loose when digging into a pile like gear drive units. The poster refused to accept that the hydo pedal didn't act like an accelerator and I hoped to get some fodder for my cannon.

BTW, I like your new (?) signature.

Once again John, you the man! That's the one I'm looking for.

I've gotta get better at using the search feature /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

PitBull:
Signature is new, to match Power Trac 1845, less than a week old. Great fun so far.

PitBull:

The thread was in the New Holland owning/operating board. Last posting was in July 2001 (should put it on the 8th or 9th page of the board). Poster was dieselpower.

Here is the link:
