One thing I have discovered at least with my tractor is when shifting my speed ranger I find they if the loader is off the ground and there is no stress on the tractor It shifts very easy. When I am digging with the loader I find low range is best but to transport I use mid range so I shift back and forth constantly. Even if the loader is empty if the loader is on the ground it doesn't want to shift. Same with 4 wheel drive. It appears that for all the range selectors to glide smoothly there need to be no load on the Hydraulic system. I think it is because the Hydraulics for the loader and the HST share the same fluid

Those were pretty neat, Timber.
I take it the blond guy operating is you?

What kind of cam did you use?

Cool Vids Timber - you make it look easy :)

Not that you were doing anything wrong, but I feel a lot safer keep my FEL low when working with rear blade. I made the mistake one time of leaving the bucket up high when it was full and just about flipped her over.

LOL yea I am the Blond guy, that would be me.
I would never have my loader up like that with a load in it but there are 2 reasons why I was working with it like that. 1 is I can see the ground in front of the tractor and the other is I am working close to the fence. It also makes the tractor as short as possible for working in close quarters. It is difficult to watch the loader and the box blade at the same time so I put the loader up out of harms way so it goes over the fence instead of into it. You are right though a low tree branch could pull it over. All work sights have to be dealt with as the circumstances dictate.
I am glad you enjoyed watching them ;)

I did the recording with a digital camcorder By Samsung. Now mine has micro cassettes and If I was to do it again I probably would buy 1 with internal memory but this seems to work great. I have it on a tripod just set it and let it go. I use the IEEE1394 connections on my laptop and the camcorder to transfer the clips. I set my movie maker to make 10 minute clips because that is the max for utube and most hosting programs. As soon as I load the clips on to Youtube I delete them from my computer. It is very simple really with the newer media computers out there. Everything was built in so I just had to buy the cable. The IEEE1394 data transfer is the most efficient for video transfer and its pretty standard. It blows away the USB connection as far as speed. You do need to have the camcorder plugged into AC for it to work though.

I enjoyed your video's, because I too like to watch tractor video's.
The tooth bar must make a differnce? I have a 2910, just think it the
greatest thing since canned beer. Several years ago I worked for a guy
that brought a B7800 with a Woods loader, in my opnion it was to heavy
even after I put fluid in the tires, it had a three way bucket, but even that
was to much for the tractor.

I am not going to say anything about trying with a Wired Haired Fox Terrier
on your lap. I have some video with her on my lap, but yet have to figure
out how to get them on TBN.

Looking forward to more video's

I am a very big fan of the tooth bar. I have had it since the tractor was new. I have taken it off to back drag slush off my drive when it was clear the snow blower was the wrong choice for the job but it goes right back on again. With the box blade I really do not need to do any back dragging with the loader. Between the box blade and my ballast drum I have ballast for all my working conditions. I never wanted loaded tires because I also want to make the tractor as light as possible when it calls for it. I don't do any finish mowing but I do have plans for a heavy brush cutter in the future for trail blazing. It has been a perfect fit for me. I do see the value of position control but at this point it doesn't matter.I am thinking a bucket mounted Grapple might be my next attachment purchase. I have 90 pound Doberman's so none of them are getting in my lap LOL not that they wouldn't if I let them. I am glad you all are enjoying the clips. They are easy and fun to make. I will be starting a major deck construction very soon. I think that might be an interesting project for a lot of people

Timber,
I am only going to mention about video format since you made the comment in your post. The miniDV format you have is the best on the consumer market right now. All those ones that go to DVD or a hard drive are fine if you don't want to edit or make copies, all due to compression ratios. This is not a video forum so I will stop there. Nice videos though.

Really, that great to know, I was kind of thinking I blew it when I bought that camcorder for my wife. I 1st thought it was not going to be possible to load the videos onto the computer. I didn't even know what an IEEE cable was till I started looking in to it.I would be very interested in learning more about making Videos as I am very much a Novice. With all the new computers out the and affordable Digital camcorders I think a lot of people will be doing more video clips. I know this is not a Video forum but I don't think anyone would object to any enlightenment on the subject
