Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

I had it together and was splitting wood within a few hours of getting it. I just had not posted the pics of it. This is why I was looking for a coupon that could be used on predator gas powered items. I was hoping to run it today but it did not happen.

DId you find a coupon you could use? I'm looking to buy the same splitter and the saw mill. I wish I would have bought them last year before they started excluding them on the coupons.

I never did find a coupon for it:thumbdown:

Nice thread on the other forum, Roger. Had no idea there was a Firewood Hoarders Club, complete with its own bling!

Also hadn't seen that HF splitter in action until your videos. That dual-direction action really keeps you on your toes if you try to split with every up and back stroke. I could see it getting a little dangerous at the end of a long afternoon when you're tired. My splitter is a 27 ton Troy-Bilt horizontal/vertical. Unstoppable in the gnarliest-crotch logs, but not nearly as fast as yours.

That sucks, I'm going to hold out for a while and see if one pops up. I have a little electric homelite splitter that actually works really well and will hold me over until then. Thanks for the link to the other site. The splitter looks like it will work nicely for me.

Thanks, I thought about making a thread on here but I was not sure where to post it so I never did. I think there is a forum for about everything. I've even heard of a tractor forum;)

The splitter easily keeps 2 people busy. There is a bit of a learning curve to running it and being efficient.

Do you have a HF store near you? They are opening one in Winchester soon.

I was hopping to find one in stock so I would not have to pay for truck freight but I couldn't. I check with the 10 closest stores. I was worried that at anytime they may stop carrying it or they would raise the price so I went ahead and got one. I watched a video of the HF electric splitter on youtube. It looked like it worked pretty good. I'm going to keep that thread on the other forum updated on how the splitter is doing and any modifications I make to it. Good luck on finding a coupon. I think I read somewhere that they will honor a coupon up to 30 days after purchase.

You can put a deck on one of their trailers and make lots of profit. :)

I thought $30 was about right to pay for this 25 year old one.

After breaking lose the rusted wheel bearings and stiffening the tongue, it has worked fine to pull this 2600 lb watering tank over rough ground for a couple of years now. I thought I would pop the tires or something but nothing has broken. As an old carpenter friend used to say - its good enough for the girls I go with. :D

Yea, the prices people ask for these $300 trailers is a hoot. OSB is not that expensive.
