Does anyone have a service manual with the speck detail for setting valves on a Kubota M5700. Thanks for any help.

I don't have the "M" info, but the "L" engines are all 0.0071 to 0087 inch clearance. (0.18 to 0.22 mm for the metrically endowed)

Just use a multi-thickness fold out metal gap tool like you would for spark plugs. This is NOT the bent wire ones, but the better one that has the spring steel blades you unfold like a pocket knife. You can get one at any auto parts store. 10 bucks or so.

Adjust when the cylinder is at TDC on the compression stroke.

what does "rad" stand for on the valve timing specs? I'd guess it has something to do with where in the cycle you measure them, but I'm not familiar with that term.

I believe the quotation by ROSYBROS is the crank angles at which the
valves open and close. "Rad" means radians, a measure of angles, like
degrees. A full circle has a total of 2*pi radians (6.28) as it has 360
degrees.
