Does anyone have a service manual with the speck detail for setting valves on a Kubota M5700. Thanks for any help.

I don't have the "M" info, but the "L" engines are all 0.0071 to 0087 inch clearance. (0.18 to 0.22 mm for the metrically endowed)
Just use a multi-thickness fold out metal gap tool like you would for spark plugs. This is NOT the bent wire ones, but the better one that has the spring steel blades you unfold like a pocket knife. You can get one at any auto parts store. 10 bucks or so.
Adjust when the cylinder is at TDC on the compression stroke.

Kubota M-5700 Valve settings are as follows
Valve clearance ( when Cold ) 0.18 to 0.22mm or 0.0071 to 0.0087in
Vlave Seat Angle ( intake ) 1.047 Rad 60 degrees ( exhaust ) 0.785 rad 45 degrees
Valve Face angle ( intake and exaust same as above )
Vlave stem to valve guide ( clearance ) 0.040 to 0.070mm or 0.00157 to 0.00276in. (Allowable limit is 0.10mm or 0.0039in.)
Vlave stem ( O.D. ) 7.960 to 7.975mm or 0.31339 to 0.31398in.
Valve guide ( I.D. ) 8.015 to 8.030mm or 0.31555 to 0.31614in.
Valve Recessing ( Protrusion ) 0.05mm or 0.0020in.
( Recessing ) 0.15mm or 0.0059in. allowable limit is 0.40mm or 0.0157in.
Valve timing ( intake valve ) open 0.21rad 12degrees before TDC
closed 0.63rad 36degrees after BDC
Valve timing ( exhaust valve ) open 1.05rad 60degrees before TDC
closed 0.21rad 12 degrees after BDC
Valve spring ( Free Length ) 41.7 to 42.2mm or 1.6417 to 1.6614in. allowable limit is 41.2mm or 1.6220in.
Valve spring ( setting load ) 117.6N 12.0 KGF or 26.4lbs allowable limit 100.0N 10.2 KGF or 22.5lbs.
Valve spring ( setting length ) 35.0mm or 1.3780in.

what does "rad" stand for on the valve timing specs? I'd guess it has something to do with where in the cycle you measure them, but I'm not familiar with that term.
