My PTO just shut down in the middle of a lawn mowing job. I have checked all connections, PTO switch, dead man switch, continuity etc. all the way to the PTO. Have power everywhere including going into the PTO, however there is infinite resistance at the connector to the PTO. My engineering friend says we have done all we can do to insure the power supply is ok, but something must be bad or broken within the unit. We have also adjusted air gap to the .015 setting.
Does anyone know if the PTO removal is an easy job? Should just the three bolts with springs holding the air gap cover on be removed for a look see? Any and all ideas welcome as I would have to give the machine up for three or four weeks to the dealer for his repair....
