I recently purchased a 743 bobcat, and have come to find out the alternator is not charging. There are several wires coming out of a diode box on the back of the alternator one of the wires is not attached, and I cannot find any help from the service manual i received with it. Any help in pointing me in the proper direction would be very helpful.

Delco 3 wire on that one?
There is a skid steer forum that is real helpful on the net as well. We have a 743 as well so can help, along with the full set of manuals. Are you sure it is not the temp gauge wire? or are you saying you have wires off the alternator not going anywhere? |

there are two wires coming off the alternator, and going to the starter. There is a small diode box on the back, and one wire coming out of it is not connected anywhere. By the way the diagram looks, there should also be wires going through the main harness green, and green/white I think, these are at the alternator, but there are no wires to attach.

Sorry for the delay.
Check your PM's What brand of alternator do you have on that machine? Is it a Delco Remy 10 SI is what I am guessing. Delco-Remy 12-SI 10-SI Type High Output GM Alternators, 12-SI, 10-SI Is that what you have? |
