where is the proper location to install a pressure gauge to check the relief setting on a loader valve. 1. power beyond port 2. return to tank port or 3. inlet from pump. thanks glenn

Inlet from pump. If the pump has a system pressure relief valve, then inlet pressure at the loader valve will not exceed system pressure even if the loader valve relief is set higher than the system relief valve.

If you need to set the relief valve on the FEL valve, then you need to plug the gauge into one of the loader ports, then operate the joystick to energize that port. This will deadhead the pump into the gauge giving you the reading of the relief valve. Do this for only 1 or 2 seconds at a time...
