International 3514
Hi I am new here i am only 17 and i have a international 3514 back hoe and I think it has a problem. One day i was using it in the winter after i let it warm up for a little bit and everything was moving but the one arm that connects to the bucket. The next day i go to look at it and i see fluid running down it. I'm mot sure but i googled it and I think it might be the rod seal. I was wondering what the problem was and what i would have to do to fix it and how much and if i should take it to a shop and how much it would be.

i have some pics of it:

Welcome to TBN:D

Just a note-this should be in the Hydraulics forum due to the nature of the question...BUT

It is very possible the rod seal has let go, does the rod move in either direction?

If it's the seal, then it can be rebuilt, but it will take some big tools to get that cylinder apart. Your best bet may be to remove the cylinder and take it to a local hydraulics shop to get rebuilt-it will probably be less than $100 for them to repack it. Look in the phone book under "hydraulics" and call around to get some estimates.
