Re: 3rd s c v john deere 4300
I just got my 4300 service manual and parts book last week. It seems that
JD sold the tractor with a single or a triple SCV. You have the latter if
you got the FEL joystick to run the first 2 valves, leaving the 3rd valve
plugged off and without any linkage to operate it. The 3rd SCV kit seems to
offer a cable-operated remote lever and the linkage and pipes needed to
bring the work ports out the back.
I am leaning toward buying just the small linkage bracket from JD, and
using my own cable for a remote lever, and standard hoses and fittings for
the plumbing. You can see the parts picture on JDParts.com, but it is
easier to use your own copy of the parts book in PDF format or on paper.See my TBN projects at:

Re: 3rd s c v john deere 4300
I agree, not that bad a deal. It seems that different kits are offered: one
is like I mentioned with the friction lever and cable, and the other seems to
use a linkage similar to the FEL control (no cable). The latter lever is on the
right side near the PTO and FEL control. I do not see the need for the
friction-style lever.
Same with the power beyond kit for backhoes. No kit is really needed
unless you want the bracket-mounted QDs and hard lines.See my TBN projects at:
