John Deere 4300 complete rebuild

Actually, its the pivot cylinders. They make the front of the operator's station tighter by having the pivot cylinders tucked back and out. That back and out determines how close it can be mounted. I've been looking at it again and I think its only six inches difference between the two hoes though.

My completed 4300 in action can be seen at:
YouTube - JD4300 sep26

This is my first edited video post from a real video camera, not just an
AVI or WMV taken with one of my digital still cameras. I used a cheap
JVC DV videotape camera, FireWire, and Windows Movie Maker, Vista
version. Pretty easy, but I had to use the HELP files a few times.

I really like how the JD handles, the powerful loader, and the very tightly
coupled hoe. The 1400# hoe and subframe add to stability without adding
any driveability issues.

In the video, you can see how I walk on the rear tire to change seats.
The ROPS is pretty low, so good thing I am not very tall.

Great video! I enjoyed it and all of this thread. It has been extremely informative and I have followed it from the beginning. I especially appreciate the photos and descriptions of each step of the refurb process. I feel I have learned a lot about this family of tractors (I have a 3520 which I think if very similar). Thanks, and congradulations on a fine job!

I am also starting to think about selling this tractor.

Nice job!!! Looks and runs great! Have you asked the rental company yet if they would like to buy it back??? :D Man, after all that work you put in it, I'd have to keep it awhile and get some good use out of it but that's my take on it. Sounds like are just ready to move on to another project.

Thx, everyone!

I would have used the TBN video posting service, but I had problems.
Ain't YouTube great?

This is just the 420 FEL....I hope your 430 uses bigger cylinder rods, Roy.

I have successfully epoxied some of the JD green resin...I will post some
pix shortly.
