Some assembly required, batteries not included.

A little more than some. What, batteries not included! :confused2: :laughing:

I think i found your next project...

Nice.

I went to the site and saw more pix, but I could not locate the seller.

That seems to be a nice eHydro unit with 485 hoe. Another JD with
a broken tunnel section, likely caused by the inadequate hoe subframe.

I would buy such a unit, but site-unseen, and shipping issues make it
daunting.

The sign says Copart....... they are a big chain of salvage auctions (at least here in the northeast). I'm too lazy to google them and find the tractor for you though.:ashamed:

Yeah, it was sold on 11-16 in Pittsburgh, but they do not post prices
realized. Copart has a yard for salvage vehicle auctions in this area, too.

Anyway, thx for the lead, JD3720.

Post 188 and 189. That appears to be the part I have to replace on my 4200, the rear dif no longer locks. Looks like I will be doing a big part of this procedure, just to get to that piece. Dang. I also having gears grinding while trying to shift and the three point hitch stays engaged when in full up. I'm almost on the verge of buying a new one till I saw this point and then am still thinking a new one. Cheaper to fix it! Any thoughts? open ended question I know. dfKrug, wish you were closer and bored, as well many on here do. I have enjoyed this so far, but my head starts a spinning.

I was out of the country and just got back.

I have been using this tractor and the diff lock works fine if you hold
the pedal down. It does not snap back like it does on other tractors with
fresh squared-off diff-lock teeth. Instead, the diff lock releases as you
lift your left heel off the pedal. When I have mud, I need to use diff-lock
with my R4 tires.

I am still amazed at the wear I had. I hope others will share pix of
JD CUT diff-lock teeth. This repair was mostly labor, so factor that in
if you are deciding whether or not to fix or buy another tractor.

dfkrug, what did you do for the special john deere tools needed. Looking in the book for splitting the tractor I need the tractor stands at $690 bucks and the clutch tool for $498 and the ball extractor tool for $21. Anybody know where I can either rent, borrow, steal (just Kidding) or alternative methods for splitting the tractor.

Where are you buying the replacement pieces from?

Unfortunately I don't have the engineering creative juices as yourself, so I'm sure there is an easy way to fabricate at least the stands.

Thanks for the reply.
