john deere 790
My five year old 790 ran fine , I changed the transmission fluid, filter and cleaned screen, replaced with john deere fluid and now transmission runs hot and the clutch slips. Any ideas, I am commfortable that nothing else has chnaged

G'day i don't mean to be rude but is it possible the filter or screen is in the wrong way round ?

The transmission temperature issue makes no sense at all since it's a manual. Is it possible that you're a bit more attuned to it in this warm weather having just changed the fluid?
The filter wouldn't be any issue either since the hydraulics are working and the filter is on the left side. Ditto with the screen on the lower right.
The clutch is kind of an unknown issue. It might have been a problem developing. Check to see that the differential vent under the seat isn't plugged and developing a slight internal pressure.
The first thing that really comes to mind when I read this was if you somehow have the brakes dragging. If you were working with the filter screen, you were working around some linkages. Look to see if somehow a brake(s) got applied.JD 790 w/70 FEL & 7 BH on turf tires
