3- 47 M, Kubota 2330 and Ford 4500
real novice....please forgive and thank for your patience. 70's ford tractor running ok....tried to start in cold weather...had to jump start...pulled it in the barn...charged the battery...turned the key...thought I saw a puff of smoke near the pos terminal....got nothing....lights work..battery is charged...new starter last year....what should I do next

smoke means bad connection.

remove and clean all connections between the bat and starter..

Totally agree with that one don't overlook the back of the batt term if it has got one of those term with the saddle holding the wire in as they can get bad in there too
