Thanks i personally use a 2,4,8 amp battery minder brand charger. I accidentally deep cycled a 1 year old agm battery in my victory i wish i had known about the midtronics at the time.
i tried to piggy back it with another battery could not get it to take a charge. Ive seen the same thing with test vehicles at work. A Couple hours on this charger and they work like new. Unfortunately its cheaper to scrap out a $130 battery than buying a $2000 charger

Marine Battery Charger | Motorcycle Battery Charger | OPTIMABATTERIES

I did not know about those. I am slowing converting to yellow top Optimas. I have not had a reason to charge one yet, but this charger may be nice to have.

$200 seems reasonable

It will also rejuvenate a deeply discharged AGM battery.

I don't see any offering 8-volt charging?

Since the title was "What is the best 12 volt Battery Charger regardless of cost" - ??

Do you mean 8 Amp charge rate? They have different models with different charge rates. This particular charger is intelligent and will optimize mode for the type of battery. As I have several SLA motorcycle batteries, a LiFeP04 motorcycle battery, and two AGM car batteries, this works with all of them. The Optima Red Top has a max charging rate of 10 A max and the motorcycle batteries are lower.

I have the 4512. They're only about $35. The Pro Logix models cost more, not sure of the benefits. The one I have will automatically sense battery type.

I have Red Tops in my WRX and Outback as it is 14 lbs lighter than the OEM battery and substantially more cranking ability in the cold. An Odyssey AGM weighs 50 lbs: the Red Top 36. Because the WRX is a turbo, the compression ratio is lower and that thing will crank no matter how cold.

But for our minivan and other demanding applications, I try to get the Odyssey brand, also sold by Sears as Diehard Platinum. They're expensive, but work great.

Appreciate the link...

My 8-volt comment was in response to the website... I still have two 8 volts that I may someday convert to 12.
