Ford 8n Fan Belt Replacement?

On an 8n with a front mount distributor, is changing the fan belt as simple as loosening the generator bracket, slipping off the old belt, and then slipping on the new belt? Or do you have to remove stuff to get access to the the old belt to take it off & put the new belt on?

It just seems like there is not much room/clearance between the fan/radiator or between the bottom pulley and such.

Best I can recall, nothing had to be removed, just enough room between fan and radiator.

there is just enough room between the fan and shroud. You might need to rotate the fan while you are working it in. My belt usually breaks when I'm at the farthest point from my barn

Thanks for the responses! It sounds like I'm in luck and replacing it should be fairly straightforward.

Mine hasn't broke yet, but it has started squealing at higher rpm's and is looking a bit frayed around the edges.

I figured it would be good to go ahead and replace it before it actually breaks!
