Bias ply tractor tires

I just had a tractor tire replaced. I shopped around 3 places somewhat close to me and all said that tire (18.4 x 34 bias ply) is becoming rare as used. I was picking though tires that probably had been removed because they were considered shot. I got one with good sidewalls but short lugs for $200. If I had the extra cash I think I could have done better by switching both to radials.

Anyone else having troubles finding used bais ply tractor tires?

Good used bias tires are hard to find in the larger sizes.
I needed a 20.8-38 last year & looked for 6 months before i finally found a matching pair of goodyears that had been stored inside & were in great shape with about 60% tread left.
A new import in this size is right at $900.00. i gave $400.00 for the pair.
With new one's being so expensive people are getting as much use out of them as they can.
