Just buy the appropiate gauge or larger three wire cord and some male plugs and put it all together. No problem finding any of the stuff at the Box stores.:)

Hardest part is making nice connections at the tool end.:)

Anyone with 30yo tools is gonna have these problems. I gotta tellya .. while this suggestion may be a litle OT .. start collecting the DeWalt 18v tools .. and never look back. Many found on Amazon for $100 plus or minus. My most used are the 1/2" Impact, and 1/2" combo Hammer drill. Forget HD .. they are in bed with Ryobi these days .. Ridgid and Dewalt are available there, but not competitive .. even with 10% veterans discount.

Meanwhile ... judicious and liberal application of 10mil pipe tape has shown to be an adequate get-by at the tool end, and it's generally cheaper and alot quicker to buy an appropriately sized extention cord, and just whack off the socket end ... nice new plug .. even gettem in yellow :)
