John Deere 455 steering cylinder leaking

My steering cylinder is leaking like crazy...its between $275-299 for a new one ( non-serviceable, welded together) I am looking for seals for it but have not had any luck yet. I cut it apart at work, and would like to try and put seals in it and weld it back together......Any ideas where I can find seals for it? The JD part # is AM118796.......Thanks!!!

I think your best bet is to take it to a hydraulics repair shop. They will probably be able to match up an appropriate set. I have welded several cylinders in the past and had no issues at all. Just do what you have to to protect the seals from heat and you'll be fine.
