john deere 300b back hoe has no functions wont even travel

any help will be great
just got this hoe
the previous owner said hydr functions and the tranmission fwd and rev quit at one time
had a vibration and lost all function still starts and runs great with no noises but will do nothing
previous owner said that he knew it had a bad swing cylinder before all this happened
