Would like everyone's opinion on how best to clean up the engine compartment of my New Holland TC33D . Had a hydraulic hose burst today up high in the engine compartment at the hydraulic fluid cooler/radiator. Everything took a bath in hydraulic fluid--radiator itself, fan belt, alternator.

Hose is easily replaced, but how to clean everything else? I am particularly concerned about the alternator. I would think also with all of that oil attracting dirt in the radiator fins it would be in danger of clogging up over time, reducing cooling efficiency.

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts.

Simple green. Don't let it sit on aluminum, rinse immediately,

Good stuff.

wipe the plastic down, soap on the rad, and then a rinse off.

considder it rust proofed.

I had a hose let go on my NAA a while back.. over a year ago.

no new rust has popped up yey, and a rub with a good cloth on the sheet metal brings the shine out in the old paint.. :)

Open the hood and pressure wash it off.

They use Dawn dishwashing soap to degrease wildlife after oil spills. Simple green is good as mentioned. Pressure wash is okay as long as the paint is on tightly. I have had them remove paint that I wanted to keep.
