BX25 Hoe Hose Repair

I looked at trying to modify a socket but the steel will still be cheap steal. These Snap On tools are like Jewelry, made from strong stuff. If I had a mill maybe I would try to emiulate that cut-away socket, and in a 12 point at that, but I do not, and it would cost more than 46 bux to have a machinist do it. If your going to try to modify a socket you need a really thin walled socket to start with! That alone limits your choices greatly.

The quality of the steel and the wall thickness of the socket were two of my concerns when I posted my question about modifying an existing socket. Does anyone know if this a problem that is inherent to the BX25 or should I be concerned about it on my BX23?
