I have an Ariens rototiller with a motor from Kohler. It has a magneto ignition, and I can get no spark from it. I've taken the flywheel off and cleaned things up as much as I can, but I'm still getting no spark. I am also not finding any sites that carry the magneto, so I'm at a loss.

Any suggestions? Hints?

Thanks in advance.

Ken

Google the model number of your Kohler motor and you should find many places with parts.

If you go to the Kohler web site and put in your model number, select workshop manual and read the manual for how to test your ign system.

The "T" stands for "Pull start, magneto ignition"
Look on Ebay, under K181 (forget about the T)
I saw at least 6 coils for sale, for magneto ignition.
The points are the same on all the K series, but the condensor is different on magneto ones.
Those are on Ebay too-#47 147 01-s

I have the same problem with a Troy-built horse tiller. Put 3 mags on it, no good. Magnet in the flywheel is weak. I put a battery, coil and condenser. Wired it with a kill switch, works like a charm. I do have to charge the battery at night tho. Still looking for a good flywheel, don't have 500 bucks for a new one, can't find anyplace to recharge the magnet.
