I turn the switch on and the tractor came to a complete stop and died everything just shut down .. I have a new battery and even thought maybe it needed charging i did that and still nothing no lights no sound no nothing just dead. I put a light meter on the starter it was fine power checked all fuses they are fine .. I got on the internet and looked up solutuions but still one thing i was going to check is from a forum a 60 am fuse is this something in the 790 tractor or what can i do please help

Getting no lights or anything at all?

Check your ground. My ground was bad opn my 770 and did this on occasion. Check all connections, then pull the side panels off to inspect the fuse box. I seem to remember only a few fuses, none as big as 60 amps.

Best of luck.

You may have a corroded connector or wire that isn't letting enough current through. Welcome to the forum!

Someone else had a similar problem and it turned out to be the ground cable. It was actually corroded up inside of the insulation. So, definitely check both power and ground cables, at BOTH ends. I have a 790 myself, but to be honest I don't know if it has a main 60 amp fuse, but I think I've read on here in another thread that it does have one. I have a .pdf file of the 790 electrical schematic, but it's such a small format it's hard to read or I would post it for you. Anyway, good luck with it.

could be also the fuse link that went.

I'm sure it's an electrical short.
I had a similar problem with my 790 (when I owned it)...checked the battery cables, starter, safety switches (this is something you want to check, BTW).
It turned out to be a bad ground connection. I didn't find it...after about two weeks of troubleshooting (and I'll be the first to admit...I'm not good with electrical trouble shooting), I had the dealer come get it.

One thing I do advise...check as much of the "easy" stuff as you can. Definitely the battery ground (as Kebo wrote...there's been at least one thread on that) and the safety switch connection. Keep an eye out for any frayed wires while you're troubleshooting...and it doesn't take too much corrosion to cause a bad ground.
It would be a good idea to get a copy of the electrical schematic, if you can. The dealer might copy one for you (if you don't have a service manual). You'll want the tractor's serial number to ensure you get the correct schematic.

I have a similar problem but mine died when I turned it off to take a break. Now I have nothing on panel, lights, gauges or whatever.
I have 12v to starter and ignition.
I have wiring diagram which shows fusible link, but I can't find it on the tractor. Can someone tell me where it is and what it looks like?

there will be several on your tractor, Deere fusible links are going to look like a wire splice covered with shrink tubing

So, if there are several fusible links.... where are they all located at?? My 790 is DEAD to the world, even after a fresh batter charge.
