Carb issue...
Sorry in advance if someone has posted a thread similar to this....
And thanks for those who helped me with my burning wires problem... It's solved now I have a new issue...
My 14.5 hp kohler engine in my terra mite hydrostatic t3(I believe) is acting up... She will start up just fine with full choke and a little bit of throttle.... She runs fine for about 15 mins then stalls out... It will start back up on full throttle and choke and run for a few mins then stall out again and over an over and over... I'm sure it's the carburator... But I had been reading other people's issues and some solutions were that the engine had problems with the inline gas filter or just bad gas lines...
If anyone has any thing they could suggest that would be great... And I am a novice carb guy so any tips would also be nice on what to look for while tearing into it.... Thanks..

Re: Carb issue...
Besides fuel filter or gas line, check fuel flow out of the tank. Also fuel pump if equipped. Check for good flow out of the float valve. And do check for water in gas tank and carb bowel.

Possibly a gas cap vent problem and very easy to check.

what age is your kohler sounds like you have air getting in thru fuel line or maby like thousands of other people the gas line has disolved on the in side and filled the carb full of junk etehnol can cause it was designed and bult before the etehnol came along

Re: Carb issue...
A guy I spoke with at h.g. Briggs told me about the ethanol eroding the lines... And I do believe that the lines are original and it's an old terra mite. I can barely hear at the moment because she backfired and the exhaust is vertical and directly in front of my face and Jesus it was loud....
Thankfully, when she runs right the work that gets done is remarkable for a tracktor that was passed down to me from an uncle, or else I would sell it... And there have been a lot of offers... I just can't see myself selling it....
Thanks for y our advice guys... I'm definitely getting my bearings on this issue now.. I'll post more when I have more to report.

Try rigging a temporary fuel line from a clean source. If it stays running, that'll tell you it's a source problem, not the carb.
I'm with the others thinking the carb is NOT the problem.
