I'm tinkering with an old Promark 210 brush chipper and mounting a Kohler twin cylinder engine to it for power. I'm trying to identify the HP for the engine as the spec tags are missing. It does have 9 head bolts on each head and electronic ignition. I found "042" stamped on the block. Also, looks like a date of 12/81 stamped on the mounting flange. Horizontal shaft measures approx 4 5/8" x 1 3/8" Other searched has me thinking it's a M18. Can anyone identify by the pictures?
Thanks

Its most likely not a Magnum. More likely a KT 17 or 19 if it was made in 1981. I'm thinking that the Magnums came out in the late 80's. I know this doesn't help much, but without the spec tag, hard to say. Also, if it has ignition points, it is definitely not a magnum.
Took another look at the photos. I don't recall ever seeing a Magnum with an external coil.

I forgot to update. It does have points. Someone mentioned that it is probably a K482 or K582. I will have to measure the bore to make sure.
Thanks!
