Hi
Anybody got any expertise on old Villiers engines. Got an old side valve (I think) engine and its carby actually sits on/is part of the fuel tank.
Worked out that the fuel is pumped up by changes in the pressure in the induction manifold.
Is there any one with info on exactly how these things work?

If I am thinking about the same engine as you they are similar to the Briggs and Stratton washing machine engines. You could try asking the question over on SmokStak.com there are people over there who have collections of engines like the one you mentioned. Other than that I can not help much.
