Tractor
Bolens/Iseki Model G154 TX1300F and a Sears Custom 8E.
I am looking for 2 oil seals for a Bolens G154 / ISEKI TX1300F.
One for each side of the 3 point hitch arms where the arms go on to the
splines on the tractor.
Does someone know where I can find them.
Thank you.

My experience with other tractors is that these seals are just O-rings.
Have you taken the spline shaft out to see what the old seals look like?

Thanks for responding.
I have both seals out. They are rubber coated metal seals. I thought I could just get a couple of them at a NAPA store but come to find out they are a problem to find. The seal is 1-13/16" outside x 1-3/16" inside x 1/4" thick. Do you think a thick O ring would work.
Thanks again.

No, don't use an O-ring if that is not what the manufacturer used.

Bolens is made by Iseki, so those are metric seals. Measure all
3 dimensions very carefully and check with a generic seal supplier. There
are many on the internet, as well as small dealers on eBay. For the ID,
measure the shaft, not the seal.

Some OEM parts for old Bolens-Iseki tractors are available from internet
dealers, too. I have worked on a G274 before.

good point. I'm hoping to be able to cross a part number, but if now we will have to go by measurements.

Not sure what you used to measure the seal with, but calipers are best. and I would start with OD shaft size. inches are fine, we can convert to mm, but measuring down to the thousandth would be best.

for example your ID measurement of 1 3/16 = 1.1875in = 30.1625mm

my catalog lists 30mm (1.181 in) shaft and 1.187in (1 3/16) shaft. so it is important to know which one. I'm assuming it is 30mm being iseki, but stranger things have happened. Or could be something else if that is not a precise measurement.

hopefully we can figure something out. just hate to give you a part number and have it not fit/leak

edit: forgot to say a measurement of the housing bore would be helpful also. (that's the ID of the hole the seal fits into)

Do you still need seals OP?

I have a part number or two that match up pretty well to your given measurements, but I just wanted to double check if you could provide more detailed info.

If you want the part numbers anyway just say so and you could just try them. Any autoparts store would be able to sell you a National (Timken) seal. and from what I have seen online should be less than $10 per seal.

Yes please, I would like to get the part numbers. Sorry I haven't responded but I have been under the weather (so to speak) with a stroke. This is the 5th one for me. I did find 2 of the seals locally and all was right except the thickness. The three point hitch lift arms would not go on far enough to get the c-clips back on.
Thank you again for the information.

Oh wow! hope you get to feeling better!

the seal I had in mind is National #223018

Shaft size: 30mm (1.181 in)
Seal O.D: 46.23mm (1.820 in)
Seal thickness: 7mm (.276 in)

You mentions the one you found worked, but was to thick... do you have the part number for that seal? That way I could look up it's measurements and try and find one the same but not as thick.

Thank you so much, I am feeling better now and getting back to piddling with my tractor. The seals I found was from NAPA and the number is 11592 and under that number is, CR 38 x 45 x 8, HMSA7 R.
The small box it comes in is green with the NAPA logo on the top right and the letters SKF on the bottom right.
Thank you for the info.
