I have a small bead blasting cabinet, but for stuff that size there's a shop about 10 miles up the road that would blast the deck to white metal for $20. Unless you have several projects lined up that would make the purchase worthwhile, consider hiring out the job. Pete

What type of sand are you using and where do you get it from?

Larry -- I use aluminum oxide 40grit for paint removal, and 80grit First Choice from TIP Tools for most everything else. The aluminum oxide is really aggressive and leaves a rough finish, but the first choice practically polishes the metal! Tried glass beads for a while, but they wear out too fast.
