Has anyone replaced the seal that goes in the back of the bell housing where the shaft comes out to go back to the transmission? Just wondering if The shaft comes out without splitting the tractor? I have a pretty good leak developing and need to replace the seal, really hoping not to have to splint the machine.

What did you end up doing?

Ended up the seal was ok . It was the plug above the seal that was leaking. 2 min and a screwdriver fixed that one.

They are a royal pain to access - my neighbor had same issue - like you said - long screwdriver flips the old one out real easy, getting the new one in is gymnastics with your fingers and a pry bar.

My B21 has the same seal - knock wood its still tight (and it has more pipes and frame in the way so even harder to get to than yours or the B series)

Glad iot worked out OK.
