JD 4005 starting/ electrical issue
I have a JD 4005 with 250 hrs. it was running for 20 minutes while I attached the hay rake. Shut it off after warm up.
Went to start it and I heard a noticeable click and got nothing. I doesn't start. It ran for 1.5 hours yesterday with no issues.
I suspect it's the key/switch, as I get nothing on the console, no glow-plug turning to the reverse. Electrical system is dead. no lights, no headlights, no power to the console. battery is good and strong. Checked all of the fuses, the're good too.
It doesn't make that hum when I switch it to "Run."
Is there a switch in the clutch? It this a bad key/switch? should I check something else?
Please help

Re: JD 4005 starting/ electrical issue
Ok, So I just checked the grounds off the battery and the pos terminal, they appear clean and in working order. Hit the back of the switch, those are good with a tester, getting a nice bright light. So I'm crossing that off as the problem.
Moving out to the relays/fuses, they are still good
Tried jumping it, so I'm getting clicks from the starterLast edited by beaks; 08-02-2012 at 04:04 PM.
