IH 284
Just got my first tractor, IH 284, 1977 vintage. First order of business is the carburetor! Any and all advice for a novice would be appreciated. Apparently, setting the float is done by selecting the proper number of shims under the needle valve housing. Any way to take some of the trial-and-error out of this?
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.
You could probably go with a carb rebuild kit which would come with all the nessesary pieces. May even instructions. I have never bought one so I do not know. What carberator does the tractor have on it?"If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy" - Red Green
