BCS sickle bar repair.

[RIGHT]I am interested in replacing some cutter sections on a BCS sickle bar mower. I purchased a Hershel Adams rivet tool and the correct rivets and cutter sections. I would like to replace the cutters without removing the sickle bar. My question is; How well does the Hershel Adams rivet tool work?

Welcome to the forum. I have seen the sections removed using the tool but never still on the mower. I think it would be easyest to just remove the bar. Disconect the pitman and is should slide out. Them tools work good. You can also put the new sections on with the bolts.

Thanks for the information. In the past when I repaired my other sickle bar mowers I did remove the bar to do the repair, however at that time I did not have the rivet tool. I will give it a shot this weekend. I am hoping that I can save some time by not having to remove the bar.
