John Deere 2210 - Mower Adjustment will not stay in place!!

Help,
I have a JD 2210 that the Mower Adjustment knob will not stay in place. I have located the culprit which is a spring clip that goes under the tractor and keeps the adjustment cam in place. My problem is where does it hook. I know where it hooks on the frame, because the broken piece remains there. I cannot tell from the parts page where it hooks on the lift mechanism?? Can anyone assist me?
