1997 MF1260 Head Gasket

Two AGCO dealers now can't identify my serial # to supply a freakin headgasket My serial # is F-H4205 (M.S.N. 9180) which is nothing like what you see in the parts books. Has anyone else run into this?? I can't believe AGCO doesn't recognize a serial # from 1997

Are you sure you are reading the serial number not the series number. Serial number are usually 6 or more characters in length.

It is on a riveted on data plate (3.5in X 2.5") directly under the seat.
From what I have been able to find on the web, the F denotes 97, G=1998 ect. When I search for 97-2002 1250s and 1260s for sale online I see alot of people listing serial #s like mine that coincide with this.

I guess you were right with the serial number. Can they get the part number for the gasket. They usually don't change any engine components, so you can order one for another serial number and it should work.
