Sharing key swtich info for 1720 Fords
I thought it was time I give something back for all the information I've gleaned from this forum!

I recently had electrical problems with my 1720.
The alternator went bad.
The battery went bad.
AND the key switch went bad, all in the space of a couple months.
I replaced the battery, found a new aftermarket alt on fleabay, but the key switch had to come from Ford. I couldn't find an aftermarket switch that would work with the glow plugs.
There are 5 different key switches listed for the 1720. Of course, the parts listing for my tractor called for the most expensive of them all @ 125.00. But what I found was, part# SBA385201900 fits my 1720 perfectly. It just doesn't come with the little pigtail wiring harness the others come with. The index numbers on the back of the switch are the same, it takes the same key as the old switch, but it was ~70 bux so it saved me a good deal.
Hope this helps someone else!
