we have an f450 with a manual trans at work, in a service truck. it may have a pto .. not sure of year of truck.. but it has a 7.3psd in it.. thinking it is the last of the 7.3s in 04.
tranny has had it.. howls, growls, and jumps out bad.
here's the question.. if it has a pto.. what all will that fit on? only the manual? or an auto as well?
reason I ask is we also have an 04 f250 psd / 6.0 that has front end damage. we've found a good running f250 6.0 psd at a salvage yard that has rear end damage... it's priced right and if we take the front clip and radiator and cooler parts we need from it for our existing f250, it will be cheaper than buying the stuff straight out.... was wondering if that f250 auto trans will fit into the 450?
I need to find out for sure about the pto.
otherwise.. if no pto.. will the auto trans fit in?
if it fits in, what else has to be done? I know linkage for shifter and whatnot needs to be added.. any computer issues?
