John Deere 450C crawler/loader won't back up

When the John Deere 450C crawler/loader is on a steep incline, nose down, it will not back up.
If I turn left or right, it pulls fine. Does this indicate an oil pick-up problem? Any suggestions?

I had 1 that was doing that and it was low on oil. A website I use for old crawler problems is JDcrawlers Messageboard :: Index. Had some steering problems with a JD350 and found some good advice there.

Some guys run them a little over full when in steep country. If it is fine on a less steep slope that is what I would do.
