    John Deere 770

    Default John Deere 770 information

    Hello- I just bought a JD 770 to maintain a gravel driveway and plow snow, etc...and unfortunately cannot find much information on it. I was told that it is an '89, but looked up the model #/serial on the JD website to confirm and cannot find a match. Also- I absolutely cannot find any good, reliable information on the engine. The person I bought it from said that it was the upgraded engine that was 30 hp, but again- I can't find (reliable,consistent) information on this engine model # on any Yanmar and/or JD website.

    Does anyone know any resources that I haven't found yet?

    Serial #on the engine... *CH3045D001835* Model 3TN82 - RJK

    Engine may be a Yanmar. Maybe you could find some info through Yanmar. Or give a post on the JD forum, there's sure to be a 770 owner in there someplace.
    I used to have a 2004 790, but that isn't helping you out a whole lot.

    Go to JD parts . com . Type in 770 model and doalphabetical., search . There will be serial # breaks in the listings. That tractor was made for 2 years by Yanmar . Is the tractor new to you The Yanmar engine is the best , i t brought Deere into small tractors .

    The engine has a Yanmar PN...if fact, the whole tractor is a Yanmar build. Per Tractor Data.com, the 770 uses a 3TN82-RJX engine rated at 24 HP. The 770 has 20 PTO HP.

    The serial numbers are as follows:
    770 Serial Numbers: (Location: Below PTO)

    1989: 1001
    1990: 4111
    1991: 100001
    1992: 115001
    1993: 120001
    1994: 130001
    1995: 140001
    1996: 150001
    1997: 160001
    1998: 170001



    As far as the "30 HP" upgrade, I think the seller was BSing you.
