I'm trying to remove the starter on my JD 3720 because I'm thinking the solenoid is defective. I have all the wires disconnected from it as well as the two bolts removed that appear to hold it. Only thing is, the starter will not even begin to budge, and it appears to be still solidly attached. I've even smacked it with a piece of 2x4 and large ball peen hammer and it will not budge. My 3720 is a hydrostatic.

Can anyone provide any advice as to what I need to do to get this starter off?

Thanks,
Ken
