I have a 5'KK rotary mower one of the blades is loose and the gear box seems loose also.Last weekend I tried taking the round disc off that the blades are bolted to.Got the bolt off but couldn't budge the disc. This looks like the only way to get to the bolts for the gear box.I know the blades are accessable from the top of the deck but how can you tighten the gear box the bolts for it just spin from the topside.Any advice from those more knowledgable is greatly apreciated.

The round disc is the 'stump jumper' and most have a key or spline on a tapered shaft.
One way to get it to pop loose is take the bolt out a couple turns (make sure u still have over 1/2" threads still in shaft or get a longer bolt) next get 2 prybars and pry on opposite sides of stump jumper.
While prying (don't bend anything just use steady pressure)hit the bolt on the head w/ a large hammer.
This will be a 2 person job.
W/ the bolt still in shaft the stump jumper won't fall off.
If u are alone a couple of splitting wedges may work also.
After u get it apart I would put in NEW bolts and use red lock-tite on them.
