We have a John Deere 6420 and the auto light, located near the PTO lights on the right of the cab, is always on. I cant find out what it means or why it came on. Our tractor still runs the same. Thanks for the help.

It means Auto Shifting is ON.
Do you have the AutoQuad Plus trans? On your gear range lever knob are there three buttons? If so, rear most engages Auto Shifting. Press it and light should be off.

No, we don't have an auto quad Trans. We only have two buttons on the range lever... Faulty sensor?
