I was mowing hay tonight with a 684 and on the last swath I couldn't get the tractor to shift into low or reverse. I can put it into neutral just fine. I am pretty sure that the linkage is screwed up but I was wondering if any body has a pic or IPL so I can see how it is supposed to look. Thanks in advance.

is the tractor still moving in high range when the clutch released in neutral??

Did u get it fixed. I have a IH684 that did the same thing. I removed some of the linkage put a pair of vice grips on on of the shifting bars and can now shift into the different ranges. L and R are on the same fork. Evidently H is on a different fork and one must be in the neutral range for the other fork to engage.

Been busy out in the field, work a regular job plus raise beef. The linkage fell apart in the field. The rod that the linkage moves for low and reverse worked its way out so I couldn't shift anywhere but high. All fixed and running great now. Now it's off to hydraulic issues on the 656, the three point arms are very spongy.
