Need schematic to convert from generator to alternator

Is it a gas or diesel tractor? Reason I ask is a gas tractor has a key switch with OFF RUN START.
A diesel only has two positions.
With a diesel tractor, you. Must use a one wire self exciting alternator.
I learned that the hard way and had to order a conversion kit to change my new alternator from three wire to one wire.
Yesterday's tractor I think may have a conversion kit that has the brackets and everything. Including alternator
I removed All of the wiring and started from scratch.
Remember with a generator that you have to excite some part of the generator after the battery has been disconnected to make it charge again.
Some of the more experienced tractor owners may be able to tell you how to save the Genny.

Why do you need an alternator? Other than having to change a bearing 20+ years ago, the generator on my 1965 UK 135 has never skipped a beat. In the winter I run 3 lights and a heater in the cab. Maybe with a gas engine an alternator would be better?

The current alternator requires a voltage regulator and I wanted to convert to a one wire alternator that has a built in regulator.
