Hi, I have a 2510 and I'm replacing the rear axle bearings. I can't get the inside bearing races out of the axle housing. The races are set on top of a lip and I can't get a punch to punch them out. Does anybody know of a way to get then out? I tried a reverse gear puller and it isn't working. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Could you find or cut out a piece of metal and weld it to the race? I have seen replaceable valve seats removed by welding the old valve to the seat. A couple of taps on the stem and they pop right out

Use a arc welder and weld a bead around the center of the old race. I use a 6011 1/8 or 5/32 rod. It will shrink the old race and it will fall out.

I'll be the 3rd poster to state run a welding bead around the inside of the race.

Also, after you get the race out, grind of some of the outside so that it will fit back in loosely. Then use this when driving the new race in, especially if the race has to be driven past flush.

Thanks for everybody's suggestions. I ended up cutting a piece of 1/2 inch steel rod 3 7/8" long and cuttin a notch on each end that fit in the slots and pressing the races out.
