Fitting a Farmall C grill

I'm restoring a C and purchased a used grill in really good condition but the lower section doesn't seem to fit well with the steering bolster casting. the grill face isn't vertical when viewed from the side. Do these lower sections have to be custom trimmed?

I had a Farmall H and have had grill off a number of times, putting back on sometime would fight you.I would take a long narrow punch and slip through bolt hole of grill into hole where bolt goes and it would pull it together start your bolt,tighten down and go to other side and do the same.

Thanks, the pictures help, mine is apart right now, I did quick test fit and then took it apart including the radiator. I noticed in the photos that the angle of lower section of your grill matches the angle of the steering bolster. Mine doesn't look like that. I'll try to post some pics. I wonder if it's a different model or maybe model year.

Thanks, The top mounts of the grill seem fine, they line up good with the bolts in the radiator for the upper radiator / grill support. Just the lower section fouling the bolster casting

i have a buddy that had a C as well.. but sold it.. his grill was the same as mine. not sure what year his was. but we both worked on our hoods at the same time. ( compairing dent hammering and skim coat bondo work. )

mine is a mid early 48

Without even seeing it, sounds like a grill for an A. One for a B or BN may fit as it has a similar narrow front bolster.

Thanks, My neighbor has an A that I can look at. The bottom piece on my grill definitely doesn't look the one on my dad's super C.
