Default John Deere D 130 Fuel Gauge

The fuel gauge on almost new D130 registers full- it's based on a fulcrum that weighs the tank w/ no electrical. Had it repaired under warrenty, filled the tank, back to registering full after two uses w/ no added fuel. If you lift the tank up w/ hand, the gauge level changes, release the tank, goes back to reading full.

Could the tank have shifted or something, and if so where should it rest on the little fulcrum?

I had the same problem on a JD3520. Always read full never trusted it. Finally after a long day of use the guage read 3/4 Figured I just didn't run it long enough to use up the fuel.
