JD 2020
Hi all,
Got me a 19xx (serial tag rusted off) yea JD 2020. Needs new brake lining. Anyone have any idea how many linings there are? one each side? Or how to get at them? Got lots and lots of brass in my screen and filter. Want to get this fixed before anything gets damaged in the hyd. area. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
Bernie:thumbsup:

Thanks Tx Jim,
Dang, this sounds like a big job.....
Was afraid I was going to have to do this. Do I need the rivet / de-rivet tool for this job also? Or is the lining already riveted to the plate? Do I need 2x the parts for each side? ( 1 thru 7 for right, and 1 thru 7 for left) If I unbolt the axle housing, can I slide the entire assembly off of tractor? (wheel, axle, housing) without taking off the tire/rim? And I need to pull the rops cross member.
Thanks

I think the axle/housing assembly would be easier to handle, especially when reinstalling with the wheel and tire removed. Good luck!

Zebrafive....Thanks, was thinking the same. Its just that the tires are filled, and I do not have something to move the tires with.

As you keep the tire upright you should not have a problem. You will need a helper. Is there any place you can roll one to and lean it against? Might want to tie it off too.
